Recently I read an article saying that leaving Facebook will lover you stress up to 50%, so I thought: why not? Let's do this.
Here are some researches and what I've learned from leaving Facebook.
Social Life or Social Media?
Even if you are sitting and chilling with your friends at some point the phones will start buzzing. So what will you choose Social Life or Social Media? Or maybe they are at this point the same thing. Did we replaced social life with social media?

Social media or......?
Research
There are obviously more than one research on this subject, since social media is everywhere around us. And the results of this researches are similar. If you quit Facebook, the level of cortisol, the hormone which releases stress will fall. At the same time this doesn't mean that people didn't get stressed elsewhere.
Most of the participants in the study were happy for a while without Facebook, but most of them returned when they felt unhappy. Saying they lost contact with family and friends, which affected their well being.
Other participants said they slept better when they were not on Facebook and they also noticed other benefits, but they as well at some point became unhappy.

My case
I was thinking of leaving Facebook for a while so I decided to try it. Of course it is not easy, since it is a huge habit in our life.
Earlier whenever I am sitting in front of PC I would click on Facebook to see what's going on, what people shared, etc. And the first two days were really hard. Suddenly I had a lot of free time.
And then I realised that Facebook became almost equivalent to Internet, which is apsurd. Therefore I was trying to find other websites which I could visit on Internet.
Since then, and it's been only 7 days, I finished an online course, I had more free time for writing and drawing and other things I like. Will I come back to Facebook? Maybe, I am not sure, since I can reach most of my friends and family elsewhere.
Would you do ti?
Would you leave Facebook? If you ever thought of it, maybe you should try it, just as an experiment. In the end you can always come back.
